Great memoir about growing up ace (and with OCD and a severe phobia, which I didn't expect). I recommend it to anyone who feels like they are different but don't know why. Overall, I think this book does a good job demonstrating why diversity is so crucial in media, especially media targeted toward kids. She perfectly describes the feeling of not having words to describe your experience and the only people in media that represent this aspect of you are sociopaths and serial killers. She also describes how she felt the first time she saw this part of herself represented in the media and how more representation will lead to more education and more accepting societies. Anyway, it was a great, fairly quick read

This was a lovely graphic novel that felt incredibly affirming as someone on the ace spectrum. I really look forward to reading more of Burgess's work!

I liked the art style of this one and the memoir narrative. It was also intensely relatable for me personally. However, there was something missing and I can’t quite put my finger on it. It might be that the premise is framed as coming to terms with your asexuality, when in reality it focusses more on discovering your asexuality.

I really enjoyed this book (as an ace person) but also as someone who is interested in hearing about other peoples' experiences with love and romance. the author had a super interesting story that was explored very well through colorful and well-designed art. i loved the way she used definitions, real-life experiences (of herself and others), as well as examples of how ace people can live in happy, committed relationships (or not) and be content with their lives. i loved the inclusivity of this and the way she used her past experiences to cover all of these topics. the only reason i docked stars was because sometimes the art style regarding the boxes and movement of the comic was difficult to read. on different pages, you would have to read the same format in different ways which was confusing to me. the storyline also jumped around a little bit, like when she writes that
she and her uni friend are in a relationship before she talks about how they got into said relationship
. it was just a little bit confusing for me. but overall, i loved this book; i thought the art style was great, the content well-written, and the point easy to understand.

I bought this graphic memoir as a gift for my aroace sister but wanted to give it a read for myself before giving it to her and I'm so glad I did.

A well told and inspiring story about learning to love yourself and accept where you are in life. I'm not asexual myself but this helped me to better understand the asexual experience. I also saw some of myself in the portrayal of OCD and autism in this book.

Content warnings for allusions to domestic abuse, multiple mentions of sexual assault, bullying, emotophobia, and panic attacks.
