Enjoyed this book, though not as much as the main Imperial Radch Trilogy. Still it was nice to be back on that universe and to get a different perspective on things. Also loved the aliens!

This review is upon a reread: i found it to be a lighthearted space story less like Imperial Radch, though it’s in the same space. I kept expecting certain things to come back: her pins, the heavy shoes, vestiges: but it felt like maybe the story wasn’t really about these things and was more about Ingray as a person with impossible standards to meet finding a way in her life.
