I thought this really ended the trilogy well. I was wondering how everything could balance out, and I'm really happy with what Elliott did. It felt satisfying as a reader, and for the character. Such a good series.

Near perfect. I was wondering how Elliott was going to resolve the revolution and I am SO GLAD she did not lose her nerve. Efea will rise!!
Quick moving and so interesting.

This book made me want to die in the best way. I haven’t felt like that in a while and I remembered how much I missed that feeling. Some parts were better than others (that damned ending for one(I’ll let you try to figure out which is which)) but the entire book made me want to ugly cry from the high of feeling all the best and worst emotions. It was like a breath of fresh air; cathartic; satisfying; funny; despairing; terrorizing, something that made me think YASSS, YOU GO GURL. This book and series are on my love list of books in my heart, however corny that may sound. And I just finished the .5 of this series, Night Flower, and it was one of the best shorts EVER. It only took a slow reader like me two hours. It definitely worth it. In truth my rating is more like 3.5 in the way this series is told but a solid 4.25 in the story and the ideas within it. My only complaints about how things went down in this series is Bettany (f dat beyotch), the noticeable choppiness between scenes and locations, and that things could have went nicer in that RISING five court at the end. But if you can’t hate a book, I can’t see how you can love it too. I also loved the Wenru reveal. May the Mother of All be near your five souls.

I just love the way Kate Elliott writes rebellions and uprisings.
I also love the way she makes me cry and clutch at my chest in agony.

This was a decent wrap up to a trilogy. I loved this story's world and characters.

While this one was still not quite on par with the first book, in my opinion, it was way better than the second one was. I thought this had a nice balance between the Fives and the more political war side of things, and the story wrapped up nicely by the end. A nice way to finish the series!

I FINALLY FINISHED! I had put this book aside almost a year a go, and I didn't think I was ever going to continue. I decided to go through all my books, saw this one started to skim through it and ended up finishing it. I'm glad I did. I stopped because I hated how Jes kept making excuses for Kal and her dad. I got that she loved them, but they really were part of the problem, especially her dad and what he did. They ended up redeeming themselves I think, and I ended up enjoying the book. I'm stuck between giving the book a 3 or a 4, so I'll go for a 3.5
