2nd time reading it, and i loved it just as much as the last time. I'm not the biggest fan of this narrator, so i'd say my first reading experience surpassed this one, but i loved being in this story once more. Gideon is my favorite kind of character. He's so genuine and only wants to take care of Cal the best we he could. I loved them together!

I wish the last few chapters were better. It felt like a very sloppy and rushed ending, I wish we got to see more of the dismantling of the operation. The epilogue was sweet, but I wanted to see them at least for one more chapter before they left to Boston. Not necessary scenes, but it would've been nice to send them off that way.

So hot and so sweet at the same time! Really enjoyed this story! The draw between both MC's is incredible, they have such an intense need for each other, in more ways than one. I loved their dynamic and the way Gideon cares for Cal, swooping in to rescue him like a knight in shining armor, or a Daddy being there for his boy. Cal definitely needs someone to be on his side. This is a very well-written story, some aspects are morally ambiguous but the connection between Cal and Gideon is strong and absolutely convincing. Gideon's past is a painful one, in unexpected ways, and I loved seeing him open up to Cal and Cal's reaction to it. It brings balance to their relationship, as it shows that the care and support goes both ways.

On paper this book seems really interesting, and I typically love Onley James’s writing. However, this one just wasn’t quite what I thought it would be or wanted. I think the characters were a bit underdeveloped, they fell in love too fast, & some of the plot points had no foreshadowing so they felt out of left field. The spice was very good though.

Dark Romance, Daddy Kink, Age Gap, 4 🔥

“It sucks loving somebody whose love comes with conditions.”

“‘Do you think you could love me forever?’ ‘Sometimes, it seems as if I have and just didn’t know it.’”
