This series was pitched to me as "Good Omens with lesbians" but sadly I wouldn't say it lives up to that claim. It's by the same author as "Witch Hat Atelier" and it is just a beautifully drawn, but it's missing an emotional core to really hold the plot together. Each chapter is essentially a standalone story about a demon and angel who have been in petty conflict for millennia; the theft of a tube of lipstick or pair of earring will set of a battle that destroys half a city. One fun element is that the leads can both magically change their outfits, as well as grow and shrink their wings, at will; the looks are all so fun.

A delight with a few moments of tarnish (some weight focus). Gorgeously drawn hijinks and antics.

What a perfect joy. I cannot stress enough how much this will please Good Omens fans. This is entirely focused on the complete disasters of a demon and an angel, terrible at their jobs and even worse at being enemies – just like in Good Omens. The story balances nicely between hilarious hijinks between these frenemies and an emerging sub-plot of a too-invested demon hunter.

While the art is as detailed and beautiful as in Witch Hat Atelier, the paneling itself, for which Shirahama is known for such unique, creative, and utterly unparalleled work, is noticeably stricter and blander here. Overall, Shirahama seems to have taken more inspiration from western hero comics (on which she's worked before) for the paneling style as well as civilian scenes.

The English translation is also perfection – while the devil character is snarky, casual, and swears up a storm, the angel speaks exactly like an angel would – formally, despite her inaptitude at her job otherwise, and constantly referencing biblical and Christian concepts in some quirky ways. I really enjoyed this aspect.

Absolutely buckwild. Loses a star for fatphobia and because I know Shirahama is capable of better writing (see: Witch Hat Atelier).

Me da la sensación que la Kamome dibuja esto por pasarlo bien y sin darle muchas vueltas. Está gracioso y es MUY bonito, y poco más.

Gorgeous art, I love this author’s other work, Witch Hat Atelier. Unfortunately this one didn’t work for me as much personally. The characters are gorgeous and love fashion which I think is really sweet, but it is pretty busy. Very cute, fun adventures of two frenemies.
