This is the first one of these I have read. it gives good enough back ground you can get right in. It was really smooth reading. A bit more of a sad mystery than I am used to. Guess I'm a cozy mysrty girl. But I liked the story and didn't have it all figured out from the beginning which is more fun.

Really nice way to end the series.

I will definitely miss all these characters: Callahan, Edna, all the women of the House Mouse.

Early Mary Kay Andrews using her first nom de plume. This police procedural has a Sue Grafton feel mixed in with a bit a slapstick humour of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series.

Lightweight whodunit. A nice audiobook to pass the time on my daily commute.

I like Mary Kay Andrews...usually. But this one was my least favorite of all the ones I’ve read. The audiobook narration was particularly annoying. Syrupy sweet fake southern drawl combined with mispronounced words made the weak story just plain annoying. I was happy to be finished.

I'm depressed there are no more in this series :(
