Somewhere between 2.5 and 3. I'll round up because it's for middle-grade kids.

It was an interesting concept, but I felt some parts weren't thought through as much as they should have been. Perhaps some holes, or assumptions of the modern-day world. It took a long time to get moving. Interesting world.

ok so this was good. it took forever to get to where i wanted it to but it wasnt boring at all. the descriptions were so rich and it felt alive in a dark grim way. i liked it, it does end a bit abruptly though

I enjoy this rather tame book. It has some adventure and excitement and is great for elementary age children, but still is interesting for older readers.

Definitely enjoyed this book. Very easy read as well since I finished the entire book in a span of two days. Even though it is targeted for young adult readers, it was still entertaining for someone of older age. Granted, there were minor flaws with the book that an actual adult might see which is the fact that she had to explain the thought processes among the characters after every action or explain a few things here and there but one must consider the fact that this book is targeted for younger readers. I enjoyed it very much...and looking forward to seeing the movie even though from what I read in the book and what occurs in the trailer are completely different things, I am definitely still looking forward to it. Also looking forward to reading The People of Sparks now.
