Little Red Riding Hood reimagined in Africa. I like this cute little tale where the little girl ends up being the trickster.

A very silly retelling of Little Red Riding Hood. The setting and characters were charming, though kids may question why a hungry lion bothered to lock Auntie in the closet or allow his mane to be braided, given his rumbly-tummy motivation for plotting to eat up Little Red.

What an adorable retelling of Little Red Hood. The art is adorable and hilarious. This is a great book the emphasize prepositions and action verbs. This is a great pick for the 2017-2018 Texas 2x2 list.

Such a cute adaptation of the tale. It's less frightening and more laughs than the original, so it would be great for kids who get scared easily. Also, it's great to see the old tales reworked with a more diverse character set. This new Little Red is clever, brave, and assertive; all traits that we should definitely be promoting for our children and the characters in their books.

This was a cute book. The kindergarteners really liked it, so I tried it at preschool storytime. They were a little bit restless but I read it at the end. I loved that it was a fun book with an African American character, set in current times.

August 2016 - we've read several versions of Little Red Riding Hood, and this might be one of my favorite retellings. Ben's chosen it a few times and loves the ending about not eating the dad.

This is a delightful, beautifully illustrated book! A slightly different take on Lil Red Riding Hood. Little Red is taking medicine to her auntie when the very hungry lion comes up with a very clever plan. Even thwarted by our eagle-eyed and smart protagonist, the lion (and everyone else!) live happily ever after.

Beautiful, colorful illustrations heavy on the pinks and oranges. Recommended.
