Although I enjoyed Forever, it didn't quite meet my expectations for the conclusion to the Wolves of Mercy Falls series. Stiefvater's writing has improved in ways (she makes some great reference that are just so true to life), but it is almost too lofty at times. Her writing is either overly poetic or overly hip. For instance, the characters call helicopters "helos"; it's like, "Hey! We're too hip and cool to call mundane things by their real names." It just felt like Stiefvater couldn't find a happy medium. Also, Stiefvater uses itallics A LOT. There seemed to be an empahsis on everything. More than the writing though, the meat of the book is what bothered me. For a nearly 400 page story, not a lot happens. I had high hopes after reading Linger, especially finding more about the science (if you want to call it that) of the werewolves, but the story doesn't focus on that very much. Most of the book is basically about teen angst. Overall, Forever didn't leave me satisfied and it could have been much better.

I was soo sad that I didn't like this book as much as the others. I can't figure out if it is because it had been a while since I read the first two and I was out of touch with the story, or if the book was just much slower than the other two. Whatever the reason I didn't enjoy it as much as I had hoped I would. There seemed to be a lot of dithering around from the characters and not much action. The ending also left me wanting, but that could just be because I wanted everything to be tied up in a neat little package.

I liked this one from the series the best. There were less cheesy metaphors, and it was more engrossing.
I got this book when I was fourteen and never finished it, so I feel accomplished having finished it finally at twenty-five. It was an enjoyable book, and I really liked the story that it told. It was calm and a lot didn't really happen, but it was good.

isabel is a fucking hypocrite. i hated her. sam sucks too. he’s an unmotivated coward who can’t think a single useful thought that cole as a character had to be introduced for something to actually get done

it was a struggle forcing myself to read this book

This was a meh read. I thought for sure that it was going to be better then the second book or at least subpar but it just wasn’t. It was still completely predictable so at least something was continuous. I liked that we dove deeper into Cole and Isabel as separate and whole entities. I liked that Rachel was actually included in this book and I wished we saw her more throughout the series. I hated that Sam basically gave up being a person because Grace couldn’t be. He didn’t even try to fix himself or actually live either he was just waiting for Grace to come fix him herself. Despite that they are a really cute couple and seem to make each other whole. I absolutely despised Graces and Isabels dads they had no growth at all and didn’t even try to be good parents like their mothers. I also found it odd that was Koenig introduced because he didn’t really add much, he did help find the place for the wolves but that was all. Something about the ending really bugged me and I cant quite put my finger on it. It might be that we were left without really knowing anything, like is Grace going to die? Whats going to happen to Isabel and Cole? I understand trying to allow readers some imagination to how it ends but it left me with a sense of uncertainty as if the author had just forgot to wrap it up.

I feel like this book is unfinished, that there are pages missing.
So many questions left unanswered I just really feel disappointed with this book
