I truly understand the hype over this book. Taylor Jenkins Reid did such an amazing job with this book. It was not all what I expected going, but so much better. I flew through book but I wish I had paced myself. The last third is heavy and emotional so I definitely recommend not rushing through it. There’s a theme I typically hate when done in other books, but Reid does it very gracefully.

At First I was Like this book is good but so overhyped. But at the end I couldn't put it down and I was so surprised like I did not expect that to be the reason why she choose Monique but I loved it! I Love the Character dynamics and it explored so many important topics Like love and grief or friendship I really loved it

This story gave me a perspective on fame I never considered. After reading this, I have so much more empathy for celebrities. I catch myself speculating their decisions, news articles, etc. and pausing to realize that I have no idea who these people are and that I can’t pass judgement on them because of that. I’m so glad I read this.

After sitting overnight with my thoughts on this book, I can say that Taylor Jenkins Reid writes a memoir better than any non-fiction author I've ever seen. This book was so captivating and written so beautifully and interestingly. I genuinely don't know how I ever managed to put this book down because every time I flipped the page, I didn't want to stop reading. Evelyn Hugo, you are now my emotional support fake celebrity ❤️
