Wow! I’m not sure where to even begin. I absolutely loved this story. The whites, the feather, the memories, the feud, the curse, grief, inheritance and it all came together beautifully. A story woven so intricately the lines blurred between memories and life. The lives of Jacks, the feud that started long before Jack IV was even a twinkle in her mothers eye, the curse that was said to pass down through the generations to both the O’Donnells and the Angerts and each blaming the other. Allow yourself to get lost in the whimsy of this story and I promise you will fall in love with it.

I loved everything about this. I maybe even liked it more than her adult novels. It was all the good dialogue and relationships (she writes friendships so good!) of her other books, but with a magical realism element that reminded me a lot of Sarah Addison Allen. I’m so glad, because it means I have several more of Emily Henry books left to read now!

“We may just be moments June, but to love a handful of people very well, that’s a good life. I was just a blip, a spark, a blink of God’s eyes. Because if you, it was more than enough. It was everything. I was just a moment and you gave me a million Junes. I was just a moment, and you made me forever” 💛🥹🫶🏼

I love Emily Henry but this wasn’t my favorite. I liked that they were dealing with grief and generational curses but it felt like too many metaphors. The snake in the garden, the three animals sleeping together, the cherries. And the explanation at the end just left me disappointed

Oh Emily Henry. How dare you! You hold up a mirror to my soul just to break me and heal me in all the right places.

This is a phenomenal read and utterly too perfect.
