This book reminded me more of the earlier books in the series. It was a very nice read, very easy to follow along with the story, and it seems that Mercy is gaining, or learning more about her abilities, which in my opinion makes her fit more into the supernatural world that she claims she's on the outside of. I'm highly intrigued to read the next book, so see what's up in Mercy Thompson next adventure.

Hmm. I'm waffling between a 3 and 4 star rating on this book. 3 stars on Goodreads means I liked it, which is pretty much what it all sums up to, so I'm going with 3. I don't know if this series has run it's course for me and I'm just done with it or what. I liked Frost Burned well enough, but wasn't really excited by anything in it.

It could just be me, but I've found that as authors stretch out a series for too long, I get to the point where I'm kind of just over it. It seems to me as these long series go on and on, the books get a little less and less good. And I feel like it may be time for the author to put the series to rest. I'm not sure if I can think of a series that is an exception to this.
