“The road to Mercy had been long and tortuous, and some days the destination seemed as unreachable as the summit of Mt. Everest.”

I still can't believe I've never picked up one of his books until this year... But after the first Atlee Pine book I was immediately hooked. I know that David Baldacci's writing isn't for everyone and you definitely have to be able to suspend your disbelief as his plots are incredibly over the top... But if you like your thrillers on the high octane and action-packed side, you are in for a ride. Daylight is no different, although it does have a slightly different feel than the first two books with the conspiracy plot angle. Not necessarily a bad thing, as I enjoyed the dynamics between Atlee Pine and John Puller, and of course our every own Carol Blum is there again to brighten the day. Things can be said about Atlee's hunt for the truth about her missing twin being too drawn out, and the explanation for what happened does become more and more over the top and lacks credibility... But if you focus on the entertainment level alone, you are in for a couple exhilarating reading hours. It was intriguing to see just how far the conspiracy would reach, and both the present case and the search for Mercy are strongly intertwined. There is something about the writing that is almost addictive, and I simply couldn't stop reading. The ending made me want to know more, and I'm sure I will pick up the fourth and final book some time soon.

This series gets better each book. Would definitely recommend the audiobook versions! The main storyline of Atlee Pine's sister was a larger portion of this book and I am enjoying where David Baldacci is taking the plot. I hope we find out what happened to her as the main plot of the next book.
Very excited for the next installment!
