Perhaps the biggest advertisement for lesbian sex, coffee, cigarettes, drugs, & poetry I have ever seen

oh i was severely disappointed by this book. i was expecting a memoir that dived into life as a lesbian in the 60s but instead it was just 270 pages of her talking about getting drunk and fucking people. plus lots of racism and fat phobia which were off putting.

I struggled with this from the beginning. The only story I really liked was 'Robin.' I don't think this aged well. What was once fresh is now standard and it leaves no veil for the lazy, privileged behavior to not come across as self-indulgent. This vibe isn't always bad but it's been done much better by other writers.
