I'm enjoying watching the story unfold again but good Lord the sex scenes are flowery and ridiculous.

Trigger Warnings: Sex, mild language.

4.75 I absolutely loved this book. The world is so vivid and its history is so just as interesting as its peoples. Rhapsodie's character is so well developed. Her perspectives were clear and consistent throughout the entire story and relatable. She's a loveable character with a huge heart. A few things bugged me like how everyone had a crush on the main character how unbelievably beautiful she was, but the reasons behind it and the way it helped develop the character was worth it. The relationships in this book seemed like they could be real and not all happy go lucky, which was nice although it took up a lot of the plot.

Still super cheesy, but generally more well-developed than the first book in the series. I'm definitely still a fan of Achmed, and music/magic is always my jam - plus now there are dragons! - but I could do without Ashe...

Fantastic second book in the first trilogy. An intricate and brilliant story line with twists and balanced unveiling of information that kept me intrigued. Looking forward to Destiny and the following three books.

Things keep getting better! Also I’m loving the fact that these books are over 600 pages

I had to find out if Ashe and Rhapsody ever figure out their situation, so I kept reading this trilogy even though I disliked the first novel. This book was more rewarding in its storytelling. At least it's set in the same time period, so I could enjoy the moment without so many info dumps. I have to admit that I want resolution, and this book always pairs a good with a bad, feeling like every step forward is actually a step backward. I'll need to read the third book to find out what happens.
