I cried my way through this story. There's more language than I typically would read, but the characters kept me engaged.

A really good exploration of grief and learning to live after it. Ove is both lovable and annoying, which turns at a point to endearing in its own right. The rest of the characters feel very real and individualized, and have a lot of unspoken depth to them. The back and forth between Ove's memories and current life really build his story well and allow the reader to understand why he is the way he is.

Cute and unexpectedly funny, an empathetic look into the life of a possibly autistic or at least severely emotionally unavailable boomer l. I did get metaphor fatigue by the end and I felt there were a lot of unnecessary quips about fat people. It was a pleasant enough read but not something I’d necessarily recommend to friends

This book will make you feel all the emotions. I didn’t think I’d like it but I was wrong it was great.
