I received this book free from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed the easy pace of this book in the beginning. The backstory was told through a myriad of present and past events, woven together through dialogue and memories to provide information as to where the story needed to go. It was a book I enjoyed reading, but not necessarily something to write home about. Please don't misunderstand - I did enjoy this book, and I am glad to have read it - but it didn't "wow" me.

I enjoyed how the characters were introduced almost within their stereotypes. But within the first few chapters, the reader was rewarded with the realization that these characters were the ones that break the mold of stereotypical women. It was almost as if it invited you to judge them based on their stereotypes, but then shunned you for falling into the trap before seeing what they were really like. Normally, this would have been something that bothered me. But frankly, I kind of enjoyed the chiding. It kept my mind open for the rest of the book.

The story was solid, as were all of the characters. Truthfully, I have nothing bad to say about this novel. Only just to repeat myself from before - it just didn't "wow" me. Still an enjoyable story and a comforting book.
