There's a book I read last year. It's called Tender in the Flesh. I read two words"legal cannibalism" and I just HAD to read that book. Long story short, the execution was bad. Legal cannibalism had a great deal of potential, just like "weaponized music." Unsurprisingly, Your Favorite Band Cannot Save you has the same problem: bad execution.
Everything about this novella was perfect except that it was a novella. It should have been a full length novel. More developed characters. Personal individualities. Strong bonds. I felt attached to zero (0) characters solely because we didn't have any time. Action was shoved my way, thrown in my face. I have no idea what was Moore so frantic about that he just had to fill a hundred and twenty pages and call it quits.

A great book to pick up and read through in a single sitting. I wish we'd had a slightly more likeable and less pretentious narrator to centre the plot, but the actual story is a fun time! I'm a sucker for books that incorporate other forms of media so weird subliminal music as a plot device worked well for me. Really my main issue was the main character's voice, but it bothered me less as the plot went on.
