Deep under a desolate Utah mountain lies a billion-dollar find, and EarthCore has the technology, the resources, and the guts to take the three-mile plunge. But far below the surface, where even rock is so hot as to burn bare skin, a centuries old secret has been waiting... and guarding. Kirkland, EarthCore's driving force, is about to find out that some things are better left buried.
Earthcore is a thrilling read, with action sequences and character writing as highlights, however none of the characters are even remotely relateable or likeable, and the story did drag on longer than I’d have liked. I had to push myself to finish the last third of the book, which was disappointing. The epilogue has set up a sequel that follows directly on from this novel's events, but I have no intention of continuing at this time.
