So, I bought the two issues of this comic that will ever be released and read them having never heard of anyone on the creative team. I only found out that the author is a skeeze later. Having read them, I wasn't surprised to find out that he has a gross approach to women when I went looking for the release date of issue #3. The main character also has an... uncomfortable opinion of women. He states in the second issue that he met a woman who was a sold into slavery who asked him to help her get free. Instead of helping her, he planted fake stolen gems in her work equipment and likely got her killed. For no apparent reason.

While I am into the concept of a space pirate crew that includes an octopus, a bear, a cockney bull dog, a snake with cyborg gun arms, and an alligator, I am not disappointed that Dark Horse did the right thing in cancelling this title. I am only disappointed that the artist, inker, and colorist lost income in working with a skeeze. Their work was truly excellent, and I will be seeking out other titles by the artist and colorist. This will be my only read of Jai Nitz. I would recommend avoiding this one, despite how lovely the art is and how fun it looks like it would be.
