Taste is the dry and tedious storytelling of where and what Stanley has eaten throughout his life. Therefor, if you’re the kind of person that enjoys dry and tedious storytelling about the best topic ever, food, then you should enjoy this book. I almost took away a star because of his generally pompous demeanor and perceived ignorance of how absolutely privileged and fortunate his life has been, but I kept the 5th star there just for the fact that this book released in 2021 but doesn’t touch on any US politics (which no celebrity should ever be allow to talk about, ever.)

What a wonderful book to read by a very ‰ЫПhuman‰Ыќ man. Stanley talks freely about his long love of food and eating and cooking and the focus tho not all of it is italian foods. He grew up fortunately in a very loving family and his parents were from Italy and their parents came here from Italy same place in Italy. There are so many memorable things to read here . I loved talking about making two films with the great Meryl Streep and how the group was on a trip to Europe as part of talking up the film about Julia Child. He and Meryl actually together cooked blanquette de veau. I was fascinated by the tale of their dinner eating andouilette. He talks about his children his first wife who died way too young cancer and his current wife Felicity a literary agent. Both had like him a love of food. In more recent time 2018 he tells of his cancer treatment and recovery. He really isnt hiding anything nor is he exaggerating this is his earthbound story of his own life
