I listened to the audiobook, read by Tegan and Sara, and I felt it really added to the experience. Loved getting to hear their various recordings through the years, and it really lets you “grow with them” as you can hear them improve over time. I definitely related to their queer experiences as well. Really cool to get to learn the story behind the band.

I think the best way to enjoy this book, especially if you're a Tegan and Sara fan, is as an audio book, as many chapters conclude with audio of early Tegan and Sara songs.

There was a lot of nostalgia of being a kid in high school in the 90s while listening to this memoir, and Tegan and Sara each told stories that highlight the teenage mortification of the time, as well as the devastation of having your heart broken, or feeling like you didn't quite fit it.

I'm not usually a memoir person, but I'm glad I listened to it, I have a deeper appreciation for Tegan and Sara, and for their music.

A different telling than the tv show or graphic novel, and likely the truest account. Very teens in the 90’s. I really enjoyed the last bit where their career is starting. 
It’s great to see 90’s queer stories and the mental hoops we jumped through to avoid labels. Reminds me to have compassion for people that are going through that now.

This was a good memoir. I personally didn’t enjoy it much because I felt like my experiences as a teen are so separate from anything sara and tegan experienced. While I don’t need to relate to the people in the memoir in order to enjoy it, it still felt too removed from anything in my sphere. The writing was excellent though, and I imagine many others will be able to enjoy it more than me!
