read this in one sitting. loved Bram and his Bramnastic-ness. this was one hot and steamy book.
also really loved Nicola. She was a very realistic heroine, single mom, strong who loved her little girl Ava, who was so adorable.
4 stars from me!

A contemporary romance set in San Francisco featuring a single-mom trying to juggle being a mom and making ends meet.

MCs: Nicola & Bram

Heat: SPICY!

My review: I liked this book but didn't love it. I found Nicola's "woe is me" super annoying. While she didn't plan on being a single mom I didn't get the feeling that she loved her kiddo as much as she should have and that also really ruined it for me. I liked Bram, and the spicey parts of the book was super hot and his redemption very satisfying. Overall a 3-stars for Bram.

Karina Halle delivers a charming contemporary romance, filled with humor, sizzle, and endearing, totally lovable characters.

Bram and Nicola were first introduced in The Pact and whatever impressions I had of them didn’t hold true as I read The Offer. My first impression of Bram was of a spoiled Lothario and honestly, Nicola didn’t leave too much of an impression other than that of a sidekick. She was a single mom, and the more reasonable and careful of her best friends. With The Offer I got a deeper understanding of both characters, and I grew to love them.

“Never let them see you cry; never let them see you as anything but perfectly appropriate. Suck it up and carry on, a vision of cool.”

Nicola Price is a single mom struggling to give her daughter a life without want while keeping her own dreams alive. Unfortunately, life doesn’t ever play fair, and as she begins to hope for better, she’s fired from her job. With the very real possibility of eviction, she’s is forced to take Bram seriously when he offers her and her daughter a place to live.

“No matter how much you change, some people will always view you as you at a certain time of your life, at a certain age.”

Bram McGregor is a trust fund playboy who’s trying to make his own moves in life and separate himself from his family and his reputation. He has a serious hard on for Nicola, but he fights it, knowing that he left a bad first impression and the only way for her to trust him enough to let him in is to be the type of man she and her daughter deserve. Of course, Bram can’t change completely, and he realizes that his carefree, sex-loving attitude might be exactly what Nicola needs in her life.

“No regrets, right?” Bram asks me with a disarming grin.

“No regrets.” I smile right back at him.

This story was one about taking chances, growth, and courage. These characters had to let go of their fears, and fight themselves in order to get the future that they dreamed of. I loved that these characters were older and their world was one I identified with. Nicola was a realistic heroine; a mom who tried to balance her responsibilities as a mother as well as her responsibilities as a woman – something that isn’t easy to do. Bram was as sexy as any hero could be, but his sweetness was what made him so endearing. It was fun to see characters that I fell in love with in The Pact, but this book definitely stands alone, and Bram and Nicola’s love story is comparable to any of Karina’s couples. Also, theirs stood out for it’s humor and I think this was her most fun book; I laughed many times.

I loved watching the interplay between Bram and Nicola – I thought they had great chemistry and banter. The story was engaging and I breezed through it because it flowed so smoothly. It wasn’t heavy laden with angst, but there were definitely some poignant moments balanced with the sexier and more lighthearted moments. I loved the characters more as I found out about their pasts, but the story didn’t harp on it; it focused mainly on the present and their evolution from enemies to lovers to loves.

If you’re looking for a romance that will make you sigh then The Offer is for you. It was truly romantic – almost a fairytale, and you’ll definitely feel the magic.

For those who think they’re lost in the struggle, whatever that struggle may be.
You’re not alone.
Keep on keeping on.

Karina Halle knew what she was doing when she chose the MacGregors for her romance series 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿😏 she was aiming for the jugular.

4-4.5 stars

Wham, Bam, thank you BRAM! 4.5 STARS

So many Bram-isms! Honestly, I could spend the day coming up with ways to use him the name. I've been thinking about my motto for Bram McGregor... he's definitely inspired me to be a perv!

The original motto:
Do it, do it right, do it right now.

I like my Bram version much better:

As steamy, sexy, pervy & unforgettably hot as this book is ... the story is so much more! It is also an incredibly sweet, intelligent and mature romance.
Karina Halle is a chameleon author. I've loved practically everything she's written - from her horror series, to her romantic suspense, to her terrific contemporary romance. If her name is on the cover, I know I'm going to enjoy it!
But this book really surprised me. I was not expecting such a "grown-up" story. Having single mom, Nicola Price as the female lead works wonderfully for this book. Her devotion to her child & her struggle to balance responsibility with fulfilling her own dreams ... extremely true to life. I connected so easily with her character.
Even Bram, with all his cocky and man-whorish ways, brought a level of maturity to the mix. I loved how he subtly takes the role of responsible protector, without those around him knowing. There's nothing sexier than a devoted, hard working man ... unless his name is Bram.

A terrific read that manages to be meaningful, while having a lot of fun. It's pretty darn Bram-tastic!

*Thank you to the author for an advanced copy of this book for review*
