Not my favorite but I loved the pace, the mystery and the action scenes! I don’t know how the series will wrap up... I am sad to have finished the penultimate novel since I’ve read the style of the final installment is quite unusual.

I’ll miss this world after Riccardino.

Mi sento di concordare con la nota finale di Camilleri. Anche a me questo pare un buonissimo libro di Montalbano.
La sua origine non letteraria e non legata al personaggio si nota, ma stranamente in modo positivo, grazie alla mancanza dell’ormai consolidata (e trita) struttura di teatrini e femme fatale che aveva uniformato le storie degli ultimi anni. Certo, Montalbano che si ricicla cuoco è un po’ fuori dal personaggio, ma si può sospendere l’incredulità e godersi una trama solida e il piacere della collaborazione del duo dinamico Montalbano-Fazio, per me un elemento ricorrente nei miei libri preferiti della serie.
Spero che ci siano altre perle del passato nei cassetti di Camilleri e della Sellerio.
