I really enjoyed the first book, but this sequel did not live up to that book. I found this one to be a slow-paced continuation that I only really enjoyed the beginning of. It was difficult to get into the plot and I found that it had pulled away from the themes of zombie dystopia too much for it to be classed in the same genre as the first one.

Well written but confusing towards the end. Also came off a bit fatphobic. There's two plus sized characters and they make it a point of mentioning their size pretty much every time they are brought up, with characters joking about being squashed and having their bones broken in their hug and stuff like that. Lost half a star for that. And the ending was vague and confusing. The writing too flowery to actually explain what the fuck was going on which left me with a sense of confusion and ruined my closure.
