Not for me

Hard to review this book. I could not get into it and Anna hust didn't make sense.
Unfortunately, the last straw was realising 75% down the road that it takes place in London UK and not US. For US reader, it might be cleared as i ve now checked and it is not by the sea. But nothing feels British in this book and i didn't recognise my adopted town.

Anna Miller for reasons only known to liquid courage decides she is going to storm into the Kings Reapers MC bar and give Riggs a piece of her mind. She and her daughter are trying to start over after a bad marriage and she knows time is ticking before she has to move again which means she is sparing Riggs son who has a strong attachment to her daughter.

Riggs cannot believe Anna came busting in his bar throwing her sass. He should be furious but he finds himself intrigued. Anna is weary about getting involved with Riggs but when she is threatened by her ex, Riggs steps in. Its only inevitable that they give into their feelings for one another but can he keep her safe?

3.75 I liked the chemistry between Anna and Riggs but it is a bit more dark then I was expecting and had a twist that was difficult to read. Overall great new series, has a few triggers though that might make readers uncomfortable.

I really loved the idea of this, but I just didn't like how it was executed. I didn't really enjoy all of the back and forth and miscommunication in the first half. Then after Anna martyred herself and went back to her ex to save Ziggy and Michelle, I hated how long it drug on for. I just wanted Riggs to storm in there and save her. I just found it strange how everything unfolded. Just not for me.

New favourite series! This book was intense, definitely not for the faint of heart. This book depicts rape, mental and physical abuse.

This book definitely isn’t easy to read, I feel like every time their relationship looks like it’s looking up something happens and they take two steps back. Riggs and Anna’s journey is rough, intense, sad but in the end it’s oh so sweet. I’m excited for the books that come next!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I received a free ARC in exchange for my honest review. This is my opinion and was not influenced by anyone.

I love these guys. They are not perfect people. They definitely have their hands into illegal things. They see nothing wrong with their way of life. They take care of their own. This is the first book in the Kings Reapers MC. This club takes place in London. There are trigger warnings for these stores so take them seriously. The characters do however have great heart. I couldn't help be care about them.

Riggs is the President just as his father and grandfather were before him. He grew up in this life. It is what he knows for better or worse. He met his VP and enforcer in the military so their bond is very tight and loyal. He is also a father to 5 year old Ziggy. With the help of his mom and sister, he raising his son well.

Anna was married to Reggie Miller and has a 5 year old daughter Malia. He is a mobster and runs half of the city. Anna is trying to get away from Reggie's abuse, divorced him and has custody of Malia. Problem is Reggie doesn't want to let go. He always finds Anna. Now Anna is living in Kings Reapers' territory. Her daughter goes to nursery school with Ziggy. He loves Malia and wants her to be his ol'lady. They are so adorable together.

Worried for her daughter's safety she goes to ask Riggs to have his son find other friends. When Anna meets Riggs she wants nothing more than him. He feels the same. Both have had relationship issues in the past so neither want to feel the feelings. Trying to avoid Riggs, Anna seems to run into him more. When Reggie declares war on the the Reapers as a message that Anna and Malia are his, Riggs has to decide what he wants.

As much as Riggs and Anna try to stop it, their love is apparent to everyone around them. Although Riggs sees no problems with the Reapers' illegal activities he is one fierce alpha when it comes to his family, which is his mind includes Anna and Malia. He also takes his job as President very seriously, seeing he has club members and the people who live in his territory to watch out for.

The story left me wanting to see the end of Reggie. His treatment of those around him is despicable. I love the twists that are in store for him, one I did not see coming. Anna's character is one that she develops after she gets away from Reggie. With the help of her best friend Eva she finds her backbone. She is willing to give everything up to protect Riggs son, cementing herself in Riggs' heart. Also to protect her best friend Eva and Eva's mom. This story held my attention, had a happy ending but left me wanting to know the other members of the club.

I could not even finish this book at 50%. Anna in this book just really got on my nerves. I can understand her being reluctant to start a new relationship, but come on get over yourself. She can not face reality about her situation and I’m honestly shocked she has made it through life this far.

Fast paced captivating read!

Couldn’t put this book down if I tried! Read it in one day! The banter between Riggs & Anna flowed really well and the supporting characters really rounded out the story! Looking forward to reading the rest of the series!
