Trigger warning: Gun-related violence.
I really wanted to like this book, but it never quite seemed to hit its stride and I was pretty underwhelmed by the end of it. I didn't particularly like or connect with any of the characters, and I had a hard time finding anyone to root for. Sometimes that works, but here it just kind of felt one-dimensional and largely disappointing. Three stars for a decent concept, but I wish it had been better executed.

By lunchtime I was in an interview room picking dried blood out from under my fingernails while two detectives explained what they wanted me to write in my confession. Not that I blame them. I was always going to be the best story.
I'm torn between loving this story and being bored by it. The premise is insanely good, and while I did enjoy the book immensely I feel that it stumbles in a few aspects, namely in its characters and their relationships.
Graphic: Murder

Interesting book, but it could've been better. I found it compelling and easy to read to finish this in a day (about 4 hours). There were a few times I had to flip back to past pages to answer questions I had, but no gaps that made it hard to move on and keep going. The ending, however, was boring. The final confrontation with the real killer of her mother seemed uninspired, and THAT'S why her mother wrote her name in blood?? to "keep her safe"????!!!!? made no sense to me, so it was not as great as it could've been. If I spent days/more time reading this I might be more offended, but because of its fast pacing I can move on and say yeah, I read it, and it's fine.

Minor: Sexual content and Stalking
