  • Diverse cast of characters? No
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? Yes

This book was different from anything else I have read by this author. Like her other books, it's balanced, but it's a little more dark and plot driven.

I couldn't put this one down! I loved Cain and Layla's story! I loved seeing the world that Cain built and getting to know him along with Layla. I loved how different he was with her and how well they fit together. These two belonged together and I can't wait for more in this world. I kept thinking what a great movie this would make as I read it. Honestly still thinking about this one!

A masterpiece

When I first read the blurb I had developed an obsession with this book. I kept trying to figure out what's going to be ? How it's going to come out ? No thought prepared me for this .

I'm a mystery , crime, murder kind of girl , i have been watching them for nearly most of my life and to see a romantic suspense I just right in. Fully .

This book starts with a very very disturbing yet intriguing scene and it goes from there .

The chemistry between Layla and North burns the kindle . From the first word " let me be your shadow " I swooned like a school girl.

I loved the world building , the dialogue and the love between the main characters.
At moments I was confused

I really enjoyed this audiobook. Sebastian York and Ava Erickson did an amazing job bringing this story to life. I was honestly worried on what was going on in the book. I couldn’t figure it out. I was so lost at one point, but when the pieces started falling into place I was thinking wow that’s crazy. I really enjoyed this book. It was entertaining and the banter between Cain and Layla was fun. They are opposites but not at the same time.

A wonderfully written storyline that has it all - suspense, intrigue, romance and a deep connection between the characters. Cain and Layla are instantly attracted to each other but that does not always make for smooth sailing and unbridled happiness. The plus to this story was the creation of Elysian which could have been a character all on it's own.

Layla and Cain's story was a fantastic romance suspense, the world-building was fantastic, very refreshing and as a technology expert I enjoyed the idea of The Elysian, I wished I could move in. The story started with a slow build, but after that it doesn't stop, the pacing is quite steady until past half and then it picks up. Layla is a character I really liked, her way she interacts and destroy Cain's walls was very entertaining. Cain on the other hand is a character I loved, this type of characters are my cup of tea, I love how their mind works and this book was spot on. The twists and turns had me hearing the audiobook nonstop, I had to pull an all nighter for how good it was. The audiobook is narrated by Sebastian York and Ava Erickson, two superb professional narrators that know how to perform and develop the story to deliver a high quality and excellent audiobook, their pronunciation is always clear, with a great pacing. Their combined voices and performance will have you hooked, the editing was well done, so simply a great audiobook to get to pair it with the book, so you don't miss a thing. I can't wait to see what Ava comes up with next in this great new world.
