Rin Chupeco did not disappoint with The Shadowglass, the final installment in The Bone Witch trilogy.
Without going into too much detail, every big question I had following the end of The Heart Forger was answered, and every one of Tea’s questionable decisions during the Bard’s chapters was explained.
With all the open plot and character holes going into The Shadowglass, I thought there were just too many loose ends for me to be really satisfied with only one more book, but somehow Chupeco managed it.
I can’t praise Rin Chupeco enough for the intricate web she laid out with the inclusion of the Bard’s chapters in the future.
Because of these chapters, the revelation of the Traitor within the midst of the asha didn’t come until the very end of the book, when it just made everything click together.
I sang my praises for the wonderful characters in this series in my reviews for both The Bone Witch and The Heart Forger, and my love for each of them has only grown since then (with one exception - IYKYK).
Tea’s growth from the frightened little girl at the beginning of The Bone Witch to the frightening young woman at the end of the series is astounding.
I cannot recommend this series enough. Although the first book is a little slow, The Bone Witch trilogy is now a top-five favorite of mine and I’m looking forward to rereading this series for years to come.
