I really don’t understand why this book is getting so much attention.
Breathtakingly suspenseful? No - more on the boring side with obvious repetitions of details that so clearly point to how the story will end.
Page turner? No - the first 1/3 of the book drags with the protagonist first feeling sorry for himself for not having the career he had wanted, then feeling sorry for himself for not knowing how to deal with so much success.
Such an annoying protagonist. I just wanted to feel him “oh shut up” or “I know, I know, you told me that a million times already”.
I wish I hadn’t bought this one.

I found the premise compelling at first, but my attention was lost halfway through, and by the final twist, I cared more about just getting the book finished than I did about any character’s fate.

A must read thriller with an amazing plot! You get to read a book inside a book and that makes it double awesome.
Definitely recommend!

I didn't like it at first, then the middle was pretty good, but once I "figured it out" I was done. Meh.

Even though I’m fairly new to the mystery/thriller genre, I didn’t really care for this book. I feel like the plot (lol) kinda stayed on one level the entire book and didn’t have any suspenseful, shocking moments that mysteries need to keep the plot going. The set up was boringly long, the “investigation” honestly seemed kinda pointless, and it was resolved in the last 5 pages in an almost eye rolling chiche way. On a positive note, the writing itself was well done and it does offer some interesting questions in terms of authorship but that’s about all I have to say.
