Persephone’s character keeps getting worse. While I understand her need to stand up for herself and to not be shadowed by Hades, she can’t seem to understand Hades popularity from the public. And the more reckless she acts, the more stress she brings to me(as a reader). Writing an article about Apollo and bashing him(for good reason; but not enough to actually face consequences) and then making a selfish deal with Apollo when her bag’s life is at stake…
She keeps prissy, annoying and a lot of times insecure(which I can let it slide especially from her pov).
I was expecting her mother to be more present, but based on that ending, it seems that she will be in the first instalment.

There is just so much to this book that I wouldn't have expected. Everything with Apollo (almost cried during his scene with his lover), meeting Leuce and learning more about her, the abduction, the proposal (s), the ending. It all intertwined beautifully for me. There were several times when I had to pull away from this book because it was just *so god damn good*. The love and passion Hades and Persephone share really, really touches my heart.
The author's note mentions learning more about Hades' life in the Upperworld and what he does. I am very excited for this because I just want to slurp up every piece of lore I can get about Hades. He loves so beautifully and fiercely, and I *need* to know what makes him tick.
There are some very prominent characters we have yet to meet. Where does Zeus stand in all of this? Poseidon? What's going on with Aphrodite? So many questions, so few answers.
Please make sure to read content warnings for this book. It'll make it easier.

We see a lot more of the supporting characters, especially Lexa & Apollo, in this sequel and their stories were each really well developed and helped further Persephone's own story (sue me, yes, I still have hopes for Apollo). I struggled a bit with the details of Lexa's story and would've loved some more exploration of the Drama™ that led to it, at times it felt like there was just drama for the sake of it, y'know?
I still love Hades & Persephone and I hope the teasers of their darker sides we got in this book get explored more 👀

I enjoyed this read compared to the first book.
This plotline felt like there was more meat to the content.
The one POV will always bother me in this series; however, it wasn't that bad at times in A Touch of Ruin. The only thing I can't review is Hades's character as there wasn't his POV, so it wasn't fair to judge what he does and says, even though it sometimes annoys me.
The focus of Persephone's growth in this was so good.
I love that she has flaws; she makes terrible decisions and mistakes. Even if we get annoyed and disagree with what she did, the outcome runs full circle, and she grows to learn and her character changes over time.
We get more action and involvement of side characters other than the focus of Hades and Persephone's romance.
I love Persephone is getting friends! I love a good squad and more of them!
“This mortal has distressed you,” Zofie said. “Do you want me to kill him?” “What? No, Zofie. You can’t just kill people who upset you.” The Aegis shrugged. “You can where I’m from.” “Remind me to hide all your weapons,” Persephone said.”
