3.5 stars. This was pretty good! I think it's more directed at younger girls and how to dress and act and stuff to be a "princess". But really, Meg Cabot is just writing "princess" to mean a nice, young, caring girl basically haha

Gift giving is a time honored tradition to many people celebrating different holidays. Some are better at giving gifts then others because knowing people that you are either friends with, are your family members, and even your significant other because you know them so well. This book shows how well you should know those closest to you with love and being thankful that those are in your life.

Not a bad book. A fun way to present etiquette to children. A little silly that my library listed this under junior non-fiction, but overall still good.

Of the non fiction books in the series this one was probably my least favorite. Filled with a lot of facts presented in a non interesting way most of the time. Some of it was really interesting, but the boring parts were in greater supply.

Read this so many times when I was younger, it’s actually rather educational.

I liked the breath of fresh air from the usual Princess Diary format, but the content was nothing new and failed to impress.

Fluff. Fluffity fluff fluff fluff. With some good advice mixed in. I read this novella... umm... guidebook? on my flight to Dallas. It's just little essays from various characters on how to be a princess -- deportment, etiquette, fashion, makeup, etc. I learned a few things, and it's not to "be pretty all the time" which I liked. In fact, there was a definite emphasis on being yourself but with more confidence and kindness than normal. I loved how Mia's dad listed all the topics a princess (or rather, today's nobility) should study. That list was crazy. Too bad there weren't any essays from Mia's mom or step-dad. They seemed to be the only characters not represented.

Although I hated Mia with all my 11-years-old being, this series was a guilty pleasure. Hte quality is still abysmal, though!
