Just watch the movie.
Wow. I don't know if I've ever said that before.
There are almost no differences between the two (except a few scenes added for humor). But as a whole, the book is much more cynical. Luther has a dark mind referencing suicide and gun violence, and there are racist remarks sprinkled throughout.
Also, the ending is abrupt and Luther's change of heart isn't really explained just merely acknowledged.
The thing I really wished for from the movie was more about the character Marty, but there's nothing unique to the book about him unfortunately.
