This was a nice story. The narrator's voice gave it very cozy vibes. I enjoyed it immensely.

I listened to this on the Audrey app.
It was a nice, quick story. Nothing special, though I can't help but feel rather miserable for everyone at the end. It's a happy ending for the protagonists but nothing I'd want for myself

Honestly, I really enjoyed the ending of the book but I feel so conflicted too. The last few minutes were so masterfully narrated that I was literally jumping in joy. It was such a sweet and wholesome end, with Josephine still being a tsundere and David being emotional. But I do find myself thinking is that was actually good for them. Would they last? Would Josphine miss her independence? Would she want regret the decision? Would she be able to be a wife to David instead of just a friend, because we know full well that David won't treat her as just a friend, he's been in love with her for so long.
And it makes me question, is pity really akin to love? Did Ida have the right to pester Josephine about wasting her life since she was unmarried when she herself had been through such a bad marriage? Would David be fine with marrying someone he loves who will take care of him but never have any romantic feelings towards him, seeing as he's a hopeless romantic at heart? Will Josphine be able happy with her decision?
Whatever the answer to those questions might be, I thoroughly enjoyed the audiobook because of the wonderful narration by May Toudic. It was such a fun experience.

This was my first forray into audiobooks, and therefore probably not my first choice of book to read, but one I picked simply because it was free, which probably informs my opinion!
I didn't care much for the characters nor the story, but didn't hate it either - I guess it's a story of its time, with admittedly some funny quips and fairly nice writing! I did think the narrator had a nice cadence and managed to bring life and tone to the text as she read it.
