Season 1: 4 stars
Season 2: No rating yet (ongoing)

I have yet to read the novel but I'm on it.

I will keep this brief but ultimately I feel as if I’ve proven that the dubious genre of romance literature is not my cup of tea in the slightest.

This is essentially a bodice ripper and comes with all the baggage of said genre. Although the web comic is fast paced enough and the descriptions are slimmed down enough to make it a fun sort of read, going back and reading the prose version was nigh on unbearable at points.

I was also admittedly reading a poor translation and some of the wording was quite off putting which could enhance my experience in a negative way.

Ultimately I wasn’t quite sure what rating to give it but I think two is the way to go. If you’re interested I recommend the web comic.

Great Gustav Klimt reference on the cover.

This was a fan translation. Now that it’s been officially translated and released I want to support the official release.

I initially found out about this story as Webtoon in accident while I was browsing the internet, but I finished it too fast that I can't help but wonder is that is all there is about it. I searched the internet and found out that there is a light novel and that book 1 is already finished.

I look and look for the materials, I even settled reading a badly translated novel without a care in the world as long as I get to finish the story. It is a spicy romantic story but I couldn't help but be amazed with the world building, the twists of the story and most of all the characters. It is a world about lords, monsters, wizards, dragons, knights, and politics all combined in one and the result is truly breathtaking. I couldn't stop myself from reading this. And now that I'm done....... I don't know how to function again..

The growth of the female lead was very slow and the male lead is overbearing most of the time but he really is sweet and caring that he melts my heart, when I read his POV, that just seal the deal, I'm officially in love with Riftan Calypse! I'm so excited to read about book 2 and follow the continuous growth of Maxi and of course to see the next chapter of their romance!

Here's a snippet of our main characters in the webtoon, the animation is really good you guys!!

The relationship between the main characters doesn’t seem healthy. They both have trouble communicating and explaining to each other the true meaning of their words and actions. I’m not so sure about it.
