I liked this book it was good and it pulled a lot of real emotions out of me I’m enjoying this series so far I’m glad I started reading it again it’s really enjoyable I love the possessiveness Faunus had over Mayumi and I loved the way they met in the beginning that was so cute and the ending was cute overall this book is spicy with a happy ending no cliffhangers and no love triangles or cheating it’s a monster romance which I’m really starting to enjoy these and overall i rated this book 4 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Put it down and didn't have the desire to pick it back up. I loved book 1, book 2 was okay, and this one just feels like it's dragging. Might try again later

I have mixed feelings about this book- but overall it was a good experience.

The smut is abundant and awesome! I loved how into it our FL was, and how she wasn’t ashamed of wanting sex or asking for it. The book also describes her as someone who shows love through actions not words, and I really liked that about her.

I also enjoyed the dynamic of how sex and attraction came first, and THEN love- because I feel like it’s a natural dynamic and a lot of relationships start out that way.

I loved the glimpses we got the the ML’s psyche. All the little hints that show he isn’t naive despite his fun loving personality, and is actually quite cynical. I love this type of person, who accepts the shit life throws a at them but are determined to still enjoy their lives. I deeply respect him for his inner strength.

Also, the plot itself was great. Most of the book we have them growing closer, having sex, and then building a life together- but in the background we have a bunch of things brewing that created buildup for the inevitable climax. The story flowed incredibly well with nothing feeling forced or like it was smashed in. The ending was also chef’s kiss, and wrapped the book up perfectly.

BUT, there was one thing that tainted my experience with this book. It is small, but it really bothered me enough to take away that final star.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind our FL being experienced or liking sex and not being ashamed of it. I think it’s a great starting point! Especially with our inexperienced Duskwalker who has a lot of theoretical knowledge but no practical.

But I hated how… scummy, she came across at times. Hear me out- it wasn’t the fact that she’d had a lot of sex previously that bothered me or the fact that she was bisexual- it was how she’d treated her former partners.

She openly states- MULTIPLE TIMES, that she’d say whatever was needed to get people in bed, and then leave them in the middle of the night. And by anything, I mean she’d promise a relationship, or that they could be more and it wouldn’t be a one night stand- but all she wants is a one night stand. Guys who do this are called scumbags. Hit it and quit it, playboys, ect. Just because she’s a girl doing this doesn’t make it suddenly okay when she’s treating others like that.

Once, a woman confronts the FL saying she TOLD her she didn’t want to be a one night stand. And the FL’s reaction? A bunch of guys have probably already fucked her and left the next night and she should be used to it- implying this woman was just EASY. It was really… yeah. The woman slapped her, and pissed the FL off to the point of nearly stripping her bare in a bad part of town in the middle of the street. Like, I get no one should get physical but you fucking did that girl dirty.

Like, sleep with as many people as you want, enjoy life to the fullest! But don’t lie to people and manipulate them so you can fuck them and leave them feeling used and dirty. That’s just not cool.

So this was incredible, as the previous books are!

I do feel like this book was kind of strangely written. Both Faunus and Mayumi are very short and to the point in their thoughts. I felt it was a bit jarring at the start of the book but I think I settled into it especially by the end. Reyne often writes in this way, I feel it was just amplified in the early parts of the book due to the characters. That's why I've had to take off 0.25. I feel like the first half needed some smoothing or something. I also felt that Mayumi finding monsters hot came across very suddenly.

This book had one of the best third acts I've ever read. The fight scenes were was so well choreographed I could picture exactly what was happening. Same with the sex scenes which GOOD GOD were the spiciest I've read. Mayumi is so hot too like her fighting is so sexy!

You definitely need to read this book if you were that person who loved watching hentai but couldn't deal with the non consent.
