I liked this book it was good and it pulled a lot of real emotions out of me I’m enjoying this series so far I’m glad I started reading it again it’s really enjoyable I love the possessiveness Faunus had over Mayumi and I loved the way they met in the beginning that was so cute and the ending was cute overall this book is spicy with a happy ending no cliffhangers and no love triangles or cheating it’s a monster romance which I’m really starting to enjoy these and overall i rated this book 4 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Mixed feelings on this one but much much better than book 2 of the series. It was too slow in the middle… way too slow. I skimmed a bunch of it to try and get to some plot.

This is probably one of my favorite series ever. I love monster romance and I love these characters and I just… feel speechless right now. I just finished this one and the ending has me wanting to kick my feet and giggle. I also love that all three FMC’s up until this point, and hell, even their dusk walkers are so different. I love it. I’m hoping to start the next one soon because I do not want to be without this world for too long.

This wasn’t my favorite because the main character wasn’t my favorite and the ending was near devastating, but I loved it nonetheless.

Who needs therapy when you have monster romance?
I loved how badass and strong Mayumi was! It was so cool to see a woman lead know how to survive, and thrive! I feel like I could survive for maybe an hour now in their world, after reading how Mayumi would cook and hunt. (In actuality I would survive for maybe 5 minutes, unless I'm abducted by a Duskwalker)
Faunus was so sweet, he was such a cat ! I think he is the first Duskwalker we have seen who wasn't constantly working, and ready to go everyday. Much like his  appearance he was more content to just nap lazily all day. (Also that tail though!)
On the flip side Mayumi was a difficult character to love, in best terms she was an unabashed asshole, with no desire or want to change, and no remorse in how she treats those around her. A huge hypocrite, at times I was surprised there was anything that Faunus saw in her. When she was slapped by a woman that she one night stand-ed, and then had the audacity and gall to act offended. Her inner monologue was something along the lines of "well she was probably treated like this by men so it's okay". Like what even? The inner misogyny was strong. I can see why this was the first book to not have the brides meet or interact, Mayumi had a very abrasive personality and I don't see how it would have ended well. (I feel like Delora and her could have cool sparring matches though!)
Honestly this is some of the best BIPOC writing from an author I have ever seen in a book. You can tell so much time and research was done into writing her character, and I loved every second of it. It was incorporated into so much of Mayumi's character, and even how she ended up fixing a certain piece of material just was the cherry on top.
One final thing to say: barbed for her pleasure

Another must read book by Opal Reyne!

Opal has done it again!

I love Opal's descriptions, she does an excellent job setting every scene and giving me a great picture of what's going on. Her characters are so interesting. The plot and the world building continues to grow into something fascinating! I love that we are slowly getting more information about the veil and the war with the Demon's.

The Duskwalkers are all so unique, sweet, and lovingly hot. They are devoted to their humans in a way human men could never compare to. The spice is fantastic! The dirty talk was amazing, the tongue stuff was delicious. So so so hot. Except. Well. The cat thing. Um. That may have gone too far for me. I'm not sure yet. I'll get back to you.

This book managed to break my heart and put it back together. Nobody does love and devotion like a Duskwalker and his bride. Just beautiful. I can't wait for another one of these books, because I will devour them every time!!
