Earlier this summer I was looking at lists of must-read thrillers and came across this one. I had zero idea what I was getting into and am kind of in a state of shock after finishing this one. This was super intense and overwhelming at points, but the story kept drawing me back in even when I felt like I needed to take a break.

Pretty Girls
Well dang... Check your trigger warnings because this is intense with very detailed descriptions of SA, suicide. and murder through mutilation of the body. It is very descriptive.
With that being said, this story was absolutely wild. I was hooked pretty early on. Claire and Lidia's sister went missing more than 20 years ago and the case was never resolved. Recent events has brought up new evidence. Claire and Lidia are searching for answers and ways to bring their sister home.

A pretty dark book, which kept me captivated by it's many plot twists and also the twisted nature of some of the characters.
Not something I would normally read, and concentrates on the relationship of a family when their daughter/sister goes missing and how the surviving members of the family deals with their grief.
As well as unraveling years later that their missing daughter/ sister was not the only one, and that there is more to this than that which meets the eye.
Shock factor is something the author uses particularly well on this book. Warning rape, torture and murder are all involved.

It dives deep into family secrets, betrayal, and a missing girl, all wrapped up in some seriously twisted plot twists. It’s like peeling an onion, but instead of tears, you just keep gasping in shock. The characters are beautifully flawed, and the suspense kept me up at night. Perfect for anyone who enjoys a mix of dark drama and nail-biting tension.
