I liked this second installment but didn't find it as engaging as the first book. There is less action and more of the traditional fantasy world building. I look forward to book 3 and seeing what adventures await Royce and Hadrian.

I liked this one more! I felt it was better written than the first. I still feel like there are some awkward dialogue choices and some lore dump chapters. On the whole it was enjoyable, light and easy. 7/10

Overall, it's a mid-story nothing great, and nothing boring, if you need a standard midlevel fantasy you can go for it, I will check the next book before deciding to continue or drop the series. ENOUGH SAID>>>>>
