One of my favourite bits of scholarship out there at the moment. Hyland manages to bring a bit of clearity into the field of disguise in Shakespeare, Marlow, Jonson and colleagues using the metatheatrical devise of disguise in all its shapes and forms. I'm not agreeing on every point he makes, but that is what great scholarship is doing - making its very own points, its very own perspective. Marvellous read!
