3.5 stars.

Not as good as the first.

I don't like the mystery here at all. And how it got resolved. Like oh we're only told 70% in about this infamous serial killer with child tandem? I didn't like that bit at all. I get that it's to build mystery and suspense and telling it earlier would be a huge tip but it still feels like a cop out. idk.

I feel bad for Stan but also I don't care enough about the story and the casts (aside from the main) to really feel bad or feel anything at all.

Hopefully the third and last book is better.

This book contains the same characters as the first novel with additions. Pip has sworn off crime solving after the chaos from her previous case. She has decided to start a podcast documenting the case and the court case of Max from the first novel after the rape allegations arose. She truly felt she had moved past this and was happy with her boyfriend, Ravi, until a friend of hers came to her after his brother disappeared. Pip decides to help find Jamie, especially since she's grown up with him and the family. Her podcast is the perfect platform to help bring the case to the attention of the community since the police feel Jamie has just left town. As with the first book in this series, there are many twists that keep you guessing. However, I did feel this book was more predictable than the first of this series. But, this was still a worthy YA mystery that I will highly recommend to my students and others.

nah cous wtf was this shit???

i was mad at the first book for spinning the story 50 ways to get one "gotcha, you didn't see this coming" moment and this one took it to a whole another level?? we are basically doing in one direction for like 80-85% of the book and then in the 15% percent there is a lot of new info dump and the story takes a wild turn out of nowhere? no clues? no hints? just a whole subplot dropped in the last few pages?

sorry but idk how anyone can like this shit. yeah nope. stayed up late night reading this yday and i am so mad. wtf even lmao. nope. just no. will def not be continuing this series- in fact, shouldn't have done so after the first disaster only.

oh and i am very mad at the subplot from the prev book- the fact that
SpoilerMax was found not guilty

I fell HARD in love with A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder and could not wait for the sequel to come out. I expected to be a tiny bit disappointed; sequels usually don’t deliver the same way the first one does. This one though? Just as perfect as the first.

This book is a YA thriller and is a picture of how that genre should be. The characters are smart and creative, flawed but lovable. The pace is fast and writing is engaging. It is thrilling and exciting to read. (I stayed up WAY too late finishing this one night and the last portion seriously had my heart racing.)

Basically, what I’m saying here is I would follow Pip and Ravi to the ends of the earth. Can’t wait for the third one!
