It’s a big no.
I tried Murakami. I can now confirm I am not a fan.
To me these stories were about the same man, just in different shades. The last 'story' especially had me rolling my eyes and tracking over paragraphs.
Potentially I was just not the target audience for listening to melancholy men drone on without any semblance of plot or character.
The portrayal of women in these stories is at best superficial and at worst completely objectifying.
I haven't read any of his other work, I hope it's better than this anthology.
