Picked this book off of Jessen Reads Romance recommendation and I am so glad I did. I likes how the main character was a material figure and not as good looking as her sisters. I thought her being betrothed to the man was an intresting source of conflict (though I do wished they talk about it more cause there were some miss communication that felt dumb). I wished that the author gave us more incite onto the other sister and her romance the duke. I liked the high stakes.

The beginning was so hilarious, I fell in love with Colin instantly. Nevertheless. the ending was such a downer, another 'save the damsel in distress' climax. And the epilogue was worst, I wish she didn't unwrap it out like that (pun intented).

A strange mix of light humor and darker topics. I'm not sure I've read a book that moved back and forth between child abuse and domestic violence to silly banter and flirtation the way this book does.

2.5 stars because Prudence’s stubbornness was SO. VERY. ANNOYING. This was  a 13-hour book that could easily have been done in 10, even 9 hours. Gideon being referred to as a rake was in the book a MILLION time! The funny parts, alas, didn’t make up for the constant repetition.

Will I read another book by this author? Only if it’s in the maximum 9-hour range.
