Fun in a redneck sorta way. Little over-long and fight scenes a little too detailed for me.

Freaking epic

Adrenaline rush, bloody pure adrenalin rush. Seriously, started slow but once the action started it was nonstop. Loved it and loved some of the concepts. Got to know many things. There are some reviews about authors comments or something. But, as an Indian I don't care about US politics lol. So this was fun and if the series will be like this, I will read it.

I like this well enough - the writer is an obvious gun enthusiast and is very knowledgeable in this field, as this book reads like part adventure, part supernatural, and part gun pr0n - I think that is is great having someone that does know their guns as well as this author, and to have some explaining is good, but this was a bit over saturated and i felt at some times that people lost a gun so that they could get a new gun for a chapter only to lose that and get another one - surprises there were none, but it was still a good and enjoyable read, and I say good job - this was not a waste and it was very entertaining to read

I really enjoyed the story/plot of this book and the characters were pretty cool. The audio book was really good too. I'm excited to read more in this series and see where it goes.

Everything a book about hunting monsters should be.

SpoilerI don't normally dig cthulu stuff, but this was a fun read. The swear words bothered me, so that was a negative.

I could tell exactly what was going to happen when everybody died in the swamp. And with Pitt being declared "the chosen one" of sorts. But I actually liked that, and it made the book all the more enjoyable.

I'm excited to read the next in the series. I would recommend this to anyone.

Lastly, this book is hilarious. There were several times that I stopped to read passages to Molly, and I ended up just laughing my way through.

The book: neat premise, predictable plot. Didn't care for how assorted characters continuously asserted how "special" the protagonist is. "You're the strongest, the strongest-willed, the best shot, the most dogged," etc, etc, etc. Yeah yeah.

The audiobook: The narrator was okay. Sometimes it was hard to tell which character was speaking in the sections with more dialogue. His production of female voices was mostly annoying, but not the worst.

Dnf. Way too much gun minutiae dragging down the narrative.

It just wasn't for me. Nothing super wrong with it and I did enjoy a lot of the characters
