I really enjoyed the moments where this slim chapbook imbues Linnaeus with a sense of real individual personality. Though, I think my favourite poem was "Watching the Floral Clock," which is doing something different. Second-favourite is "Dear Peter," a great example of this chapbook's humanizing impulse. It's also a great example of the author taking Linnaeus's own words and making something new from them through her own additions, something which succeeded more and less well in other poems.
