This I swear is part of the the Valentine series, this one was about the parents mainly the mother dealing with some self insecurities, this was a funny quick read that I listened to on audiobook. I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading Kyle’s story.

A solid 3.5. I liked it and I understood where mother Valentine was coming from, but it was frustrating how she wouldn't listen to ANYONE.

Them Valentine Mensss!!

Daddy Valentine is the definition of a grown man hunny! He was laying it on thick and it is clear that the men of the Valentine get theirs charm and swagger from Daddy V because the way he just loved his wife was unmatched! His kids definitely learned from him. And because of that I found it hard to believe Bridgette’s thinking. Her insecurities overshadowed ever aspect of love that Leslie was trying to show her and truly it baffled me. But we all deal with our insecurities differently I guess. As always, it was a well-written story that kept me flipping pages! ~Melanin Readss

It's no secret that we readers love the Valentine Brothers, and from the bits and pieces we read about Mama Bridgette and Daddy Leslie throughout the series, we knew that their love story was one to surpass all! If you haven't picked up a Stephanie Nicole Norris novel yet, you need to...like right now!

And This I Swear is romantic, funny, sweet, sexy, and just plain #HotAF!!

The female MC is an entrepreneur who is obviously incredibly intelligent and the head of very successful business so that she's desperately trying to become suddenly overnight more attractive for her DH did not work for me. She wants literal overnight improvement to her appearance to the point that she goes to get injections and considers surgery to get improvement. I didn't understand her sudden obsession with her appearance. I liked that it's challenged on page.

Cute older couple Novella.

This novella is the story of the Valentine Brothers’ parents, Leslie and Bridgette, who are in and around their 60s. The premise is that Bridgette, a conventional beauty all her life, is around 60 and is noticing her body aging and changing and becomes very insecure about it. This makes her push her husband away and they both begin to wonder if infidelity is at play even though the love and attraction between them is never in doubt.

I love this author’s books because she knows how to write vulnerable heroes who aren’t afraid to be emotional and who are all in for their heroines. I also like that she writes realistic scenarios. This is a short novella and isn’t particularly heavy on plot but in it, the author addresses a theme that affects many long term relationships i.e. confidence and feeling attractive enough for your partner. I love how it was dealt with in a non-Pygmalion way and I think this was a cute, short read. I definitely would like to read more romances featuring older people although *MY* hips ached are the... “acrobatics” at the end, and I’m much younger the MC in this. Really enjoy this author’s books.
