I enjoyed this book, the second book published by Chidera Eggerue. I listened to this as an audiobook that came out last year (the print book was published in 2019) and thought it was awesome to hear her voice and tone. This book delved a little bit deeper than "What a Time to be Alone” but wasn’t anything I hadn’t heard before. I liked the points she makes in this book about female empowerment and positivity, but I’m not on board with strict “all men are like ___” philosophies; that being said, women are bombarded within society to adhere to certain beauty and sexual standards so it was nice to read something to hype you up and take your power back! As Eggerue states in one chapter of the book re: dating, "you're the prize - so act like it." I think we get so attached to the idea of having a man / relationship (the book is geared toward a heterosexual female audience) as a measure of success that we feel worthless when we don't have someone- this was a great, quick piece to read/listen to as a reminder that it's perfectly okay to be alone and find your own happiness. However, there was something a little basic about it, so don’t waste your time.
