This short story is about Lady Celie and it makes me want to find out more about her and I hope we see more of her in the last book.

I don't want to finish this trilogy because I don't want to leave these characters behind!

but if you liked the previous Lumatere Chronicles books then you should read this. However, if you don't read it, you don't miss out on anything vital.

But it's just MORE MARCHETTA!

thanks lisa for telling me about it!!!

Happy Reading!

Sigh, if only there was an actual novel about Celie.

Wish it was a more complete story of the relationship, but loved the look into Lady Celie's life.

Reread @ July 2017: will there ever be a sequel for lady celie? the world will never know

First read:
marchetta, this is merely a novella. why do u have to put along heavy emotions in this????? WILL I EVER KNOW WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENED?!!!!

Eighth re-read: each re-read seals my love for this story, especially for the potential romance. I really want a book with Celie spying for Lumatere and outsmarting my cranky Castellan. I'm yearning for MORE.

I want Celie and Valentien to have a book for themselves. I would devour it.

Ahhh if only Melina Marchetta would write another Lumatere book. I think I would cry from happiness.

This story was published alongside [b:Ferragost|15465639|Ferragost (Lumatere Chronicles, #2.5)|Melina Marchetta|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1344133122s/15465639.jpg|21122000] and so obviously I had to read it.

This story is about two siblings, Amelie and her brother Chris who are ignored by their parents, in fact the mother is so selfish and heartless that she'd give Lochie and Maya's mother from [b:Forbidden|7600924|Forbidden|Tabitha Suzuma|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1302655056s/7600924.jpg|10018976] a run for her money. Their step-father cares only for his pigeons and his safe and everyone else can die in a hole for all he cares. Chris has battled his way out of the Guillain-Barré Syndrome with the help of his sister and their friends Trevor and Meghan and if not for them, both of their lives would be inescapable.

The story is very well written and in about 30 pages it covers family drama, a miracle, budding romance and the ending is surprisingly pleasing. The problem I had with the short story was of how it dealt with the miracle. Other issues were dealt very realistically and only the thing with Chris' illness seemed to come out of nowhere.

All in all, it was short and a fun-little read.

Only 37 pages? Why couldn't it be a little more longer?

This was a little confusing in the beginning. I wasn't sure who the characters were or how they were related to the story. There didn't seem to be any back story or anything. The reader was just dumped in the middle of Celie's visit to Ferragost castle. The end was good and makes up for the weird beginning. This was a really quick read (maybe took me an hour or two? It's only 129 pages). I am interested to see how this plays in to Quintana of Charyn...
