“He was my ruin. My reckoning. My utter destruction.”

Ok, but i am REELING from that ending, I am not okay.

I've been a fan of Beena's since I found her in 2020 with The Name of Red, and she just gets better and better with everything she writes.

Both Dahlia and Vlad go through hell, and when life forces them together, it creates something beautiful yet tragic.

Vlad does not deserve Dahlia at all. I felt he was a much better character overall, and more fleshed out. I fell in love with him from the first moment we meet him.

The background characters were what made Beauty So Cruel even better. I enjoyed meeting them and I hope we learn more about them all; Gabriele, Natalie and even Salvi.

I might be in the minority but i loved the differing point of views from Dahlia and Vlad's chapters; Vlad's in third person and Dahlia's in first. I enjoyed getting that kind of mysterious vibe from him even in his writing.

"I was his Doll, and he was my darkest fairytale."

An absolute must read for any dark romance, mafia reader

TW // rape, talks of foster care, abuse, abduction, language, assault, torture, bullying, mentions of sexual slavery, and violence.

I enjoyed the very few moments of the two main characters together, but everything else going on in the book made me dislike it. I spent the last 50% of the book skipping through most of the dialogue. I wanted to like this one, but I wish there was a warning about the topics talked about in this book.

I received this ARC in exchange for a review. Please check out the trigger warnings at the bottom of this review before reading the book.
I really enjoyed this book! It hooked me a lot quicker then I thought it would, so much so that I read it pretty much in one sitting. The only part I didn’t want to read was the end because I knew it’d break me...and I did, but in a good way.
The plot twist at the end whilst some people maybe saw coming, I did not. I thought the way the other left it right until the end, instead of including it in the characters POV throughout was really cover and made it more impactful.
I loved the characters and the romance. Vlad, the male character, especially to me was really great. I loved how he showed his vulnerability to Dahlia, the female lead.
The one con for me was that some bits felt quite repetitive, mainly what was said rather than actions.
I am super excited to read the next book!
TWs⚠️: mention of sexual assault, child sexual assault, rape, human trafficking.
Scenes of: sexual assault, violence, blood
