This was such a funny, sweet story. The chemistry and banter between the main protagonists was great. I loved how they just got each other. There was a lot of emotions in this book, some that made me cry, others that made me laugh out loud. Lots of family connections and bonds. This would have been a 4 star if not for
how it ended. How Melany randomly comes to conclusion that Beat did trust her and that she she "didnt see it." Thats ridiculous. She was right for feeling what she did and its true he chose to hurt her then not tell her the trurth after. I felt it went against what her character was like, how she went back on that. But whatever, am glad it ended happily. The reason they moms reunited was great. How they teamed up to protect their kids, even if the one hadn't really been a great mother. How that one is trying. It was touching.

This was fine, and the sexy scenes were solid. Although, omg, in the beginning when the book was hinting about
Beat's sUpEr wEiRd sEx tHiNg, I thought it was going to be something like, very unique that I had not heard of in the world of kink. It was just edging!!!!! Like!!!! The book made it seem like he could only get off drinking human blood or something! ALSO it sounds like Ms. Bailey didn't even do a medium Google on kink because the whole way Beat went about it, making Melody feel terrible in the process, was awful!
Also, I really really could not believe that I was supposed to buy that Beat is a real name that was going to be said during sex lol. Also you CAN have a Beat without a Melody, sir. The plot was fine, but the ending
seemed abrupt.

This book moved too slowly (most of it) and moved too fast (the ending). I would have liked a lot more of the moms too be honest, as their story was much more interesting!
I'm not much for fated mates, which this was, or insta love, again that's this.
It was spicy, which I liked, plenty of sex scenes, but the rest of the story was just meh.

Wild that the whole foundation of this romance is based on how they met one time for a couple minutes and then don't have any interactions with each other for another 14 years. Also the dialogue is wild, e.g., when Melody responds "Gulp," during the initial project conversation with Beat and Danielle. wtf? Who actually says that???

I switched from the audiobook to ebook at chapter 3 because I found Beat's narration to be super grating. And then just started skimming through the rest of the books after ch3 because it was so supremely boring, and the banter is so cringe. The blackmail plot was interesting for about 5 minutes to see what it was actually about, but the flat characters and the absurd setup of the show honestly made me stop caring about anything. I probably would have DNF'd, except I've done that with a few other books recently and didn't want to again.
